Oh lovely clothes. My favourite type of clothing. Gypsy skirts, lace, beads, and big belts. Fantastic!:) Are you into wearing clothes like this Ruthie? Jo.x
love, love, love these clothes-love the photographs as well! they all remind me of my first halloween costume-my mom made it for me when i was 6 and asked me what i wanted to be and i said, "a gypsy!". i didn't really know what that meant, but i knew it was something magical, that i could look into a magic crystal ball, wear a scarf on my head and tons of jewelry. my mom made a little ivory peasant top, a cobalt blue satin skirt and i wore a ruby scarf on my head with all my grandmothers and great aunties costume jewelry with red lipstick! i loved it so much that i wore the whole outfit as much as i could. looking at my wardrobe now(and even my icon photo), i have to say not much has changed! ha!
Rowan - that is so lovely! my grandma was my inspiration. she had a huge box of wonderful floaty dressing up clothes and we used to fit ourselves out in gypsy style and dance round & round to the "freeborn man of the travelling people", it was then i fell in love with all things gypsy.
Photos and clothing, ah.... wonderful. I have a skirt that reminds me of these- I wear it so often in the summer. Somehow they hold a graceful celebration of life.
